Qualified Social Worker – Duty and Assessment Team

Location: Halton, UK

Pay Rate: Up to £45.34 per hour

Contract Type: Temporary / Contract

Hours: Full-time (No condensed hours available)

About the Role:

Myn is recruiting for our long-term partner in Halton, seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Duty and Assessment Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible impact on children and families in the local community. You’ll play a pivotal role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, conducting timely assessments, and collaborating with multi-agency professionals to deliver effective support.

Key Responsibilities:

- Promptly respond to referrals and carry out timely, high-quality assessments in line with statutory requirements.

- Undertake child protection investigations and risk assessments to ensure children’s safety.

- Work collaboratively with children, families, and other professionals to develop and implement effective care plans.

- Maintain clear, accurate, and up-to-date case records.

- Prepare for and attend court proceedings, providing robust written and verbal evidence as needed.

- Continuously prioritise the safety, well-being, and development of children.

What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications:

- Degree/Diploma in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.

- Registered with Social Work England (SWE).

Experience:

- Proven experience in a Duty and Assessment or similar frontline social work role.

- Strong background in child protection and risk management.

Skills and Knowledge:

- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant UK legislation, policies, and procedures.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.

- Ability to manage a demanding caseload and make sound professional judgments under pressure.

- Strong case recording and report writing skills for court and professional settings.
